Web Links: Advocacy Groups
Cycling South
CyclingSouth is unique in Australia. It is a joint venture of the four Councils in the Southern metropolitan area of Tasmania – Hobart, Glenorchy, Clarence and Kingborough as well as the State’s bicycle advocacy group, Bicycle Tasmania. Other past partners are the Tasmanian Office of Sport and Recreation under the Active Australia program, and Brighton Council.

CyclingSouth plays an important role in the orderly development of infrastructure. In conjunction with other cycling groups, it continues to develop programs that encourage more people to enjoy riding their bikes and it plays an advocacy role for cycling at all levels of government.

    Wheels of Justice
Wheels of Justice are a group of Australian cyclists who happen to enjoy riding bicycles, who have had enough of negative attitudes and want to see positive changes for all road users.

Education: We want to see drivers educated to understand that cyclists have a right to be on the road, and that they have a duty of care towards us.

Enforcement: We want to see the existing traffic laws properly enforced to protect the safety of all road users, and full penalties applied.

Accountability: We want all road users to be held accountable for their own actions, and the systems to be in place to ensure that happens.

Dan de Groot came out of hibernation to smash the time trial course with a blistering 18:54, relegating JD to 2nd place yet again even though he beat his own time by 5 sec on a slightly longer course
