Event 6 Feb 2010 - 7 Feb 2010
Mt Wellington
Wellington Super-D
Repeat: Daily
Export
The Wellington Super- D is a brand new event based on a mass-start endurance downhill race format, similar to that used in the European Mega Avalanche Series. The event consist of a predominantly downhill track that will take most riders 20-30 minutes to complete, involving over 800m of vertical descending. There are some short uphill and flat sections, making this an event suitable for downhill and cross-country riders alike. The mass-start format will allow smart race tactics to gain competitors a real race advantage. The course begins on Big Bend Fire Trail on Mount Wellington and finishes in Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park.

Dan de Groot came out of hibernation to smash the time trial course with a blistering 18:54, relegating JD to 2nd place yet again even though he beat his own time by 5 sec on a slightly longer course
